As part of the Entrepreneurship Week at Mustaqbal University, the College of Administrative and Human Sciences held a training workshop titled: The Art of Self-Motivation

During Mustaqbal University’s Entrepreneurship Week, which coincided with Global Entrepreneurship Week, the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, represented by the Business Administration Department, collaborated with the Capacity and Skills Development Unit to organize a virtual training course titled The Art of Self-Motivation on Tuesday, corresponding to 30/4/1445 AH. Dr. Walid Qasim Qweider presented the course in the presence of Dr. Ahmad Saleh Altwaijri, Dean of the College. The course included the following topics:
First topic:
– The idea of self-motivation.
– Motivations

Mustaqbal University, represented by the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, launched Entrepreneurship Week events to coincide with Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The university’s Entrepreneurship Week activities began on the same day as Global Entrepreneurship Week, under the patronage of the President of Mustaqbal University, Dr. Mohammed Saleh Alshitawi, and in the presence of the Dean of the College of Administrative and Human Sciences Dr. Ahmad Saleh Altwaijri. The Business Management Department, in partnership with the Capacity and Skills Development Unit, offered a training course titled “A Guide for Entrepreneurs in Import and Export,” which was attended by roughly 200 university students and community members. The course included the following topics:
The First Axis: Understanding Entrepreneurship and Who Is an Entrepreneur?
– Opportunities and Challenges of Entrepreneurship.
– Benefits gained by entrepreneurs.
– The social impact of entrepreneurship.

Second Axis: Practical Procedures for Import/Export (including Case Studies)
– Import and export procedures before to and during shipment.
– Pricing, payment, and delivery systems adhere to international procedural norms INCOTERMS2010 and SWIST.
– Terms of the commercial process.
– Documents required for shipping purposes.

Third Axis: How entrepreneurs might capitalize on chances for import and/or export following Saudi Arabia’s membership in the BRICS+ organization.
– Future opportunities for this collaboration.

At the conclusion of the training, the floor was opened for attendees to ask and get answers.

Mustaqbal University, represented by the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, arranged a field trip for Law Department students to the Buraidah Labor Office.

In accordance with the Mustaqbal University’s goal and vision, the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, represented by the Law Department, scheduled a field trip for a group of sixth-grade students to Buraidah’s Labor Office. They were accompanied by Dr. Ahmad Saleh Altwaijri, Dean of the College, and Dr. Alhassan Ahmad Abkas, Head of the Law Department. This tour is part of a series of field trips designed to help students connect their theoretical knowledge to practical, field-based applications. During the tour, the students were given in-depth explanations of the Labor Office’s functions and mechanisms in resolving labor disputes, as well as the processes they go through from the time they are registered until they are resolved peacefully or referred to the labor court.

During the visit, the students learned about the importance of alternative methods of resolving labor disputes, as well as the critical role the office plays in resolving these types of disputes (since 90% of cases are resolved through these means of conciliation and settlement before reaching court). At the conclusion of the tour, there was an opportunity to address the students’ questions, which were all about various aspects of labor disputes. The students expressed their pleasure at the visit. On the sidelines of the visit, the Dean of the College and the Head of the Law Department met with the Office Manager and his assistants to discuss ways to establish a partnership between the university and the Labor Office in terms of training, exchange visits, and event and workshop organization. Both sides emphasized their willingness to begin setting solid foundations for developing and expanding the bridges of this collaboration, which stems from the university’s keen interest in marketing its students and linking them with the job market in order to accomplish its ambitious objective.

To encourage university students to pursue entrepreneurship and launch their own enterprises after graduation

Mustaqbal University, represented by Training Management in partnership with the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, hosted entrepreneur Ahmad Almuhaisni. He shared live entrepreneurial experiences and success stories, as well as advice on how to seize opportunities and overcome the hurdles and difficulties that entrepreneurs confront. The meeting was attended by about 100 male and female students, and at the end, students were given the opportunity to participate and ask questions. Human resources manager, Dr. Jamal Jarallah Algaboubi then gave a certificate of recognition to entrepreneur Almuhaisni.

Mustaqbal University, represented by the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, arranged a field trip to the Commercial Court in Buraidah for Law Department students.

A group of fourth-year law students from the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, accompanied by Dr. Alhassan Abkas, visited the Commercial Court in Buraidah to connect the educational process with fieldwork and achieve the goals of the Mustaqbal University and its academic programs. During the visit, the students learned about the Commercial Court’s jurisdictions and received explanations about the procedures and stages of handling commercial lawsuits until a judgment was issued, as well as the relationship between commercial judiciary and commercial arbitration. The visit also included a tour of the Ministry of Justice’s electronic platforms for commercial affairs. At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Abkas expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Commercial Court staff for arranging this visit for the students, who also expressed their gratitude and the extent of the benefits they gained from this visit, which will, Allah willing, enhance and increase their practical skills and abilities.

Mustaqbal University, represented by College of Administrative and Human Sciences, organizes a scientific lecture titled “The Author’s Intellectual Property Rights.”

1. Defining intellectual property, protecting it, and penalties for breaking it.
2. Presentation and explanation of intellectual property concerns, including their nature and the governmental authorities responsible for examining and regulating them.
3. Clarification of Saudi Arabia’s mechanism for protecting authors’ rights.
4. The time periods during which the author’s rights are protected under the Saudi system.
5. Procedures for registering a work in the author’s name and the authority that will accept the application. Real-world examples have practical applicability.

At the conclusion of the lecture, the floor was open for questions.

Mustaqbal University, represented by the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, organized a scientific seminar on Oral Presentation Skills.

In the context of Mustaqbal University’s efforts to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, and in execution of the university’s mission and programs, the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, represented by the English Department, in collaboration with the Skills and Capabilities Development Unit and the Student Activities Committee, held a lecture titled (Oral Presentation Skills), presented by Mohammad Nadeem. The presentation covered a variety of themes, including:

– Explain the purpose of the presentation.
– Overcome fear and capture the audience’s attention.
– Engage with the audience.
– The quality of the information offered.
– How to end the presentation.

The program was attended by roughly 30 university students, and at the conclusion of the lecture, a question and answer session was held to address any concerns.

Mustaqbal University, represented by the College of Administrative and Human Sciences offered a scientific lecture titled “Legal Drafting: Science or Art?”

Continuing Mustaqbal University’s efforts to improve its students’ skill levels, connect theoretical knowledge with practical aspects, and fulfill the university’s mission and academic programs, the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, represented by the Department of Law, in collaboration with the Skills and Capabilities Development Unit and the College Activities Committee, held a scientific lecture titled “Legal Drafting: Science or Art?”, which was presented by Dr. Alhassan Abkas. The lecture covered various issues, including:

– The nature of legal drafting.
– Fields of legal drafting.
– Legal drafting: Science or Art?
– How about language in legal drafting?
– Indicates legal drafting proficiency.
Over 100 people attended the presentation, and afterward, the floor was offered for debate and questions.

Ways of Developing Research Skills

Ways of Developing Research Skills was a contest / Quiz conducted by the Scientific Research Committee (English Department), College of Administration and Humanities. On 11th Nov, 2021 for the students. The purpose of the contest was to develop awareness of being able to write a research title and abstract on the topics provided. Apart from this a quiz too was conducted on parts of research paper. Intended outcome was that

  • the ability to gather information about the topic, review on given information and analyze and interpret the information in a manner that brings to a desired result.
  • Skill of conducting research build knowledge, think critically and exercise students mind.
  • A skill that benefits students beyond their academic life and enables to understand the world around them better.
  • Students learn that the real world is competitive while participating.

The contest exhibited enthusiastic participants who were keen to test their cognitive skills. Although the girls performed better than the boys demonstrating their critical thinking ability.

Workshop, “Publication and Citation Rate Improvement”

The Scientific research committee (English Department), College of Administration and Humanities conducted a Faculty Development Workshop, “Publication and Citation Rate Improvement” on 20th Oct 2021. The aim of the workshop was to help budding and mid-career researchers to learn effective publishing strategies to achieve the goals of getting their articles published in the appropriate journals to reach the right audience and be communicated clearly to have impact in the field. Publishing a quality paper in highly indexed scientific journals is only halfway towards receiving citation in the near future The remaining journey is grounded on disseminating the publications by the application of the right “Research Tools”, which allow the researchers to increase the research impact and citations for their publications. The intended outcome of the workshop was

  • the importance of publishing to build international reputation and establishing international collaborations.
  • issues related to ethical conduct in both research and writing.
  • strategies to make the writing process more efficient and review the Parts of Research paper
  • to improve the chances of the paper to be downloaded and read by others in the field. Of interest.
  • strategies to identify the best journal, as well as to improve the suitability of the manuscript for a particular journal.

The speakers shared their experiences along with giving the guidance to the budding researchers.  Also highlighting the importance of indigenous research. English language, publication ethics and above all plagiarism.
